Game Fishing Canada and Alaska

The sheer variety of fishing available across Canada and Alaska is mind boggling, we have opportunities in British Columbia and the Northern Territories. The choices of Salmon - Pacific or Atlantic, wilderness or something closer to civilisation are too numerous to list.

We have over thirty guiding services to use to provide these opportunities to you, they all come with accommodation, most of which we have seen, apart from the new lodges that have been built since our last visit.

The fishing in the north is mostly Brook Trout, Lake Trout, Dolly Varden, Arctic Grayling, and Pike.

There are five species of Salmon in British Columbia - Coho, Chinook, Sockeye, Pink and Chum, plus Cutthroat and Steelhead Trout

Barbless hooks are mandatory for all species including Cuthroat and Steelhead Trout

A salmon conservation stamp must be purchased and affixed to the tidal waters licence of all anglers who wish to retain any salmon caught.

A provincial salmon conservation stamp is also required to retain any salmon caught in freshwater.

Fishing Season open and closure details can be found here - Please be aware of the fact that there may be in-season changes to river licensing - it is advisable to check the DFO web site regularly.

Since our last visit there have been some significant changes to the sport fishing rules for Lake Sturgeon, as the species is considered to be under threat, please check the DFO web site for details.
We will not be arranging holidays which target Lake or White Sturgeon until the situation has been clarified
